Customer Reviews: saddle ottomanJuly 23, 2010 Jane I would highly recommend purchasing this item, it is the absolute best quality for the best price, after shopping around at furniture stores this was the choice that I made as it was much less expensive than any other products, I'm a big fan of amazon.com and have shopped for most any type of product, if you're thinking about this product or even another color I say go for it you will not be disappointed.
And I was just about to complain :)May 21, 2010 B. Barnes 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As stated in the previous reviews and comments the packaging is ...different. The top part of the ottoman is INSIDE the base.
It seems like someone at the manufacturer has a sense of humor because its almost like they don't want you to find it. There
is a fabric flap lined with Velcro on the bottom of the base. You peel that back and the top cushion is kinda crammed inside
with a plastic protector. I was worried that the process of getting the top cushion out would rip the fabric but it came out
ok.
For $60.00 it doesn't look too bad so far. You do have to sit gently though. There isn't anything to support our weight except
a fabric covering under the cushion. There isn't anything but air under that covering. If enough weight was applied I'm sure
your rear would sink into the ottoman, imho.
I was about to write Amazon and inquire where the rest of my order was until I reread the previous review. That box was downstairs
for a week and I didn't realize there was a "secret lair" in the base. There aren't any instructions to tell you this!!!
If there were better(or any) instructions and there was more support under the cushion I would give this product at least 4 stars.
I posted a couple of pics of the ottoman they way you would see it out of the box.

First ordered this ottoman in hazelnut color in December last year. I did not realise at that time that the top cushion was inside the base and covered by a flap of material. I contacted Amazon, telling them that I only received the base of the ottoman, and they said that they were unable to say when the manufacturer would be able to supply the other part. I returned the item and was refunded the purchase price of $36.96.
Fast forward to March 2010, and I saw the same ottoman in saddle color for $60.16. I purchased this one, even although the price had almost doubled. The ottoman itself is large and high, although perfect for the corner of my bedroom under a window, where a chair would have blocked some light. The only problem is that the base has a black fabric top. When the cushion is placed on top it does not cover all of the black fabric, and looks unsightly. I got around this by placing that edge against the wall, so it is hidden.
Apart from that, the ottoman looks good, and is a perfect addition to my room.
